Guest Post from Sara R.:
Gillette School, 759 Valley Rd., Gillette (Long Hill Twp., Morris County) is my favorite school playground. They have a separate, fenced area for young children with a nice climber and a neat obstacle course painted on the blacktop.
Right across the driveway from this is the main playground with a large climber with slides, 4 old-fashioned see-saws, a fire truck, lots of swings, tubes to climb through, a metal arch jungle gym, and a huge, circle see-saw.
Unfortunately there is no shade, and the playground is closed during school hours, but it’s worth a trip on a summer evening.
This looks better than the Gillette / Long Hill Twp recreational park about 500meters away on the same side of the road!! Thanks for sharing!
The playground at Long Hill Twp. municipal building is tiny; one climber for under five, a swing or two and that’s it. Not a bit of shade either, and a long way from the parking lot. Unless you’re watching a ball game, drive the few blocks east to Gillette school.
