561 East High St., Bound Brook (Somerset Co.)

Another Post by Sara Rall, if I had a payroll she’d be on it!  Found a link to the Crusaders website whose home is Billian Legion Park, they have some nice photos also of the ballfield as well. 

A large, wood-and-tire playground with two big climbing structures, slides, swings, tire swings, bridges, tunnels. There is no shade here and it gets hot mid-day.

It is not obvious, but you can park right next to the playground by the bike racks. The playground is aging but not dangerous, and usually empty. There is a baseball field here, and a nice (sunny) walking trail around the park, where you can see a cannon, a gazebo, and the berms created for flood control (Bound Brook has had a hard time with hurricanes in the last several years). In the distance you can see trains going by.

The playground is about half a mile from the train station, and there are several diners and bakeries in Bound Brook (as well as several bars).
