2/2012 Update:

Here are the latest photos from Warinanco, this playground is located right by the skating center.  We had such a great time, and so did the other kids and parents at this park.  Lots of stuff to climb on including the triangular three-tiered structure.  2 swings and 2 baby swings, as well as plenty of slides.  There is a smaller structure for the younger ones too

My kids had so much fun, they didn’t want to leave even though it was a bit blustery.  Definitely an improvement to what was there before and it looks like it’s being taken care of, as there was no graffiti like there was in the past.  Very nice!!! Our compliments to Union County Parks.

We look forward to checking out the other playground that is by the fountain area and closer to the entrance to Warinanco, didn’t have enough time to check it out.  The pictures below have the appropriate captions so you can tell what year the photo was taken.

Original Review (7/2008):

As you drive in you’ll immediately notice the lake and paddleboats, and the great area for walking.  Unfortuantely it is sad to see the vandalism and damage in the playground areas.  There were 2 playgrounds located at opposite ends of the park, the one for the toddlers has a slide that was badly damaged and could get someone easily hurt.

There was a lot of graffiti and the lack of garbage cans in proximity to the larger playground is evident by all the trash in the area.  My son however took great delight in the walking stepper and you can see potential for the playground, but it needs some serious TLC. Also “Coach” was saying how the fountain/sprinkler is painted every summer, which was refreshing to know that there is some attention to maintaining the playground area.
