Darlington County Park in Mahwah, located on 600 Darlington Avenue has a playground area located toward the back half of the park and not easily accessible due to a steep slope in the walkway. The structure is fenced in and in full sun overlooking Darlington Lake. There is a ton of climbing and playthings making it a great stop when you visit the lake. DIRECTIONS: NJ-17 N to exit for Rt 202/Oakland. Stay left onto Rte 202/RamapoValley Rd towards Oakland. You will pass Ramapo College. Approximately 1 mile after the college, make a left onto Darlington Ave. The Park will be about ½ mile ahead on your right.
PARKING: Large paved lot close to the playground
PICNICKING: Down the road from the playground there is a large covered area with picnic tables
CLIMBING: Firemen poles, repeller, chained steps, stairs, monkey bars
PLAYTHINGS: Tic-tac-toe, steering wheel, tunnels
SLIDES: One corkscrew, one tube, one chute
SPORTS: Basketball courts, tennis courts, handball courts
SWINGS: Two full, two toddler, one tire
WALKING PATHS: Path around park for walking, biking, or roller blading
WATER: Two county lakes for swimming
OTHER COOL STUFF: Park is open Memorial Day to Labor Day. A per person admission fee is charged daily during swim season. Playground area is accessible in the off season for no charge.
MAKE A DAY OF IT: After a fun day of swimming at Darlington you can head down MacArthur Blvd and try out Moe’s Southwest Grill.
