Burnham Parkway and Scherzer Way
287 to Lafayette Ave. exit 36B. Slight right onto Lafayette, under train trestle, right onto Morris St. Through light, up hill, turn Right onto East Park Pl and then go half-way around the center of town and make a right onto Washington St which is also CR-510 / NJ-24. Continue on through town, past the A&P and Burnham Pond will be another 400 yards on your left.
Very nice “Little Tikes†play areas with mulch ground cover. One play area is meant for 2-5 year olds and one for 5-12 year olds. Active pond with walking paths and wildlife. Plenty of eating and sitting areas and shade. Watch out for what the ducks leave behind!
Parking: Medium sized dirt lot and street parking spaces
Picnicking: Small gazebo near the play area and pond, benches and picnic tables scattered throughout, fireplace and grills
Climbing: Rocky stairs, hanging steering wheels, monkey bars, chains, ladders, fireman’s pole
Playthings: Tic-tac-toe, finger mazes, tubes, music center, storefront with bench, gears enclosed in plexi-glass, handprint molds, viewfinder
Seesaws: Cow and horse bouncy seater
Slides: Two toddler, one corkscrew, small chute
Sports: Two lit Little League fields behind the pond
Swings: Two toddler, two adult
Walking Paths: Paved paths around the pond and play areas
Water: Good sized pond with geese (do not feed), a small island in the center, and a fountain. Ice skating available in the winter
Make a Day of It
Visit Foster Fields around the corner or stop for Italian at Portofinos restaurant and pizzeria.
