Winter Update: Great sledding at Echo Lake, we included some pictures in our gallery below. I wrote an article about sledding around the Springfield NJ area for the local Patch, so check it out here, they include some pictures at Echo Lake as well.
Thanks Sabine of Springfield for this update Aug 1, 2009- Now with Paddle Boats or (Pedal/Peddle Boats)!!! $10/hr from Union County website: “The boats are open for use from April 1st to October 31st, seven days a week, 12-6 p.m. on weekdays, and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on weekends”
Definitely a playground for school age kids and not pre-schoolers. have a rockwall but noticed some of the grips were missing, and may need repair. In the winter be go sledding in this area, great stuff! For an excellent resource and detailed maps for Union County, see http://www.ucnj.org/parks/parkareas.html

Thank you very much for having the bathrooms accessible during the day at Echo Lake Park. This is a help for me as a jogger.

is this park good for bike rides, especially for toddlers 3 – 6 years of age?
At one time was very beautiful, but now it is dirty., cars are allowed to park on the walking paths which are covered with sticks and rocks. Why are other parks in Union County cleaner?
